Client: TRIMET
Project: Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Portland, OR

MZLA was part of a multidisciplinary team that developed the streetscape and planting design of the west segment of Portland’s newest transit line, running from Portland State University to the west abutment of the new Tilikum Crossing transit bridge. The design accommodates pedestrians, cyclists, and light rail users while providing vegetated stormwater facilities, street trees, and other ornamental plantings.

Stormwater planters line SW Lincoln Street and SW Naito Parkway with lush plantings. MZLA was responsible for the design of plantings and irrigation in the right-of-way featuring street trees, plantings adjacent to the South Waterfront station, the innovative ‘EcoTrack’ vegetated trackway, and vegetated stormwater facilities.

From Day one, Marianne stood shoulder to shoulder with the lead firms in her display of professionalism, her attention to detail and in her collaborative ethic. I look forward to the opportunity to work with her again.” – Ron Stewart, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Principal  |  ZGF Architects, LLP
