MZLA worked with a team on the streetscape design of west segment of what will be Portland’s newest transit line. The design accommodates pedestrians and light rail users while providing vegetated stormwater facilities, street trees and other ornamental plantings. Stormwater planters line SW Lincoln and Naito streets with lush plantings.
MZLA coordinated with BES in the planting palette as this agency will build and maintain these facilities. A grassy swale near the Willamette will treat run-off from the new transit bridge.
Marianne became a key member of the PMLR-West urban design team, learned how to be a driving force in design and issue resolution and added levity and great chemistry to the whole project team. She earned the trust of all the task leads and the client group and has become a preferred landscape architect for CH2M HILL’s Portland Transportation business group.
